"MAKE THESE HOLIDAYS TO REMEMBER"

Happy Holidays --

Can't believe that the last night of Hanukkah is tomorrow and Christmas is only one week off! On December 23rd I'm heading back up to my sister and brother-in-law's in upstate New York. I just love it up there and I'll bet there will be piles of snow this trip! And it's always fun to watch their Dachshunds leap through the snow like rabbits!

I have added another video on YouTube! (I'm really beginning to enjoy this!) If you go to www.youtube.com/user/AgeWiseLiving, you can check out the new one and the other 2. Enjoy!

Do you know someone who is struggling with eldercare issues? Have you tried to get them to do something - anything - before it's a crisis but they keep putting it off? Then why not get them The Ultimate Caregiver's Success System. It's a gift that keeps on giving.

I know the next two weeks will be busy for you so no more newsletters until 2010. Until then, I wish you all a joyous rest of Hanukkah, a very Merry Christmas and a very happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year.

Barbara

ARTICLE: MAKE THESE HOLIDAYS TO REMEMBER

A few weeks ago I went to a meeting where the topic was sharing special holiday memories. It was a lot of fun but also a little sad because for several of them - including me - one of their loved ones past away this year. Fortunately for all of us, the happy memories of past holidays live on.

As you know, when you are visiting your parents for the holidays, I encourage you to use that time to make sure your parents are ok (as I did in the November 19th newsletter.) Yes, you should definitely keep your eyes and ears open and if you notice issues and you have an opportunity to talk with your parent - take it.

But times change. Traditions change as our children spend the holidays with in-laws, for example. And loved ones pass on. So as we hurdle to the end of the year, the most important thing you can do this holiday season is spend real memorable time together with the people you love. All the other stuff will still be there in January. (It is, after all, just a few weeks away!) Make this holiday season one you'll look back on with joy. You never know how many more you're going to have with them. And make this a holiday to remember with your kids and siblings. It's what they'll look back on for years to come, too.

I wish you a joyous holiday season and a healthy and prosperous 2010!

And remember, if you are concerned that your aging parent need help now or may shortly and you don't know how to proceed, I urge you not to wait for a crisis to develop. Please call me toll-free (877) AGE-WISE or email me at Barbara@AgeWiseLiving.com for a complimentary "get acquainted" conversation or use the information in The Ultimate Caregiver's Success System. I don't want you to have to do this alone.
